saving private erin

There comes a time in every social media-savvy woman's life when she starts to ponder if she should keep a blog publicly available for all the world to see and read.

I'm curious to know the likelihood of people clicking through to posts if there was an extra log-on step. Would you be more or less likely to come 'round these parts? Is my vulnerability tempting enough to require an extra password?

let me know in the comments or via email...

I would still visit if I had to enter a password.

I suppose you ll lose new readers, I just found your blog and would have been less likely to log in etc if I d never read any of your entries before.

I would take the extra step and log in. As long as we still got an email notification that something new was posted.

Erin,

I found your blog some time ago while looking for step-parenting support. At the time, I was reading several other stepmother/parenting related blogs though now yours is only one of three that I continue to follow. It's not just the step-parenting ties that keep me coming back here... it's that I get something different from your posts each time and I can so easily relate. So, I would definitely take whatever other steps were necessary to follow your blog! Thanks!

I would still log on but I know what its about already ... I wonder the same thing. about my blog. I flop back and forth between making it private, deleting it all together and keeping it public.
